Our Randolph build is twenty-five units spread over four buildings. Volunteer activities will include anything it takes to build a home from start to finish. We mean it when we say – every single task is critical for the success of our mission.

Current work will be the following: Finish work in the final two buildings. Painting, flooring, trim work. In warmer weather could have some landscape work.

There is street parking only.

There can be times when we will need to change your building location due to weather, permitting or other construction-related activities.

You are assigned to build at Bennett Avenue in Randolph. Located at 42 Bennett Avenue. This location is twenty-five units built over three buildings. 

Please note that it is indoor and outdoor work so please dress up for the weather. Do not forget to wear sunscreen on sunny days!

    • Your site supervisor is Jason Devito and Matt Watts
    • Our build day is 8:30am-4:00pm
    • The Construction FAQ’s highlight arrival, lunch and departure times and help you with what to expect on an active Morris Habitat for Humanity Construction Site.
    • We build Rain or Shine unless weather is too severe. In the event we need to move your site or cancel your building day you will receive notice within 24 hours.

 

  • Attire: For your safety, please wear thick material pants and thick soled sneakers. Long pants are required to prevent cuts/scrapers. No yoga pants, stretch pants, Keds, Vans, Toms or opened toed shoes (attached Construction FAQ’s highlights more in detail)

 

  • Parking: There is street parking only. Parking is often limited, and carpooling is strongly encouraged. Please respect the neighbors and their property and refrain from walking on their property or blocking the driveways.

 

  • Safety Video: Please have each participant view this 18 minute safety course at HFHAffiliateInsurance.com/courses prior to build day. Scroll down to “Online Safety Training Courses” and click begin now. Read the entire instructions before clicking on “Take Training Course Now” and enter code W8NAEBTG, click submit, and then select “Volunteering on a Habitat for Humanity Job Site.” The course covers everything from safety issues to what to wear. At the end of the presentation, simply exit the program.
  • Smoking is not permitted in or around any Habitat worksite. There will be a designated smoking area at the work site.
  • Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to participate on an active building site. Youth volunteers ages 16 or 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.  One adult chaperone is needed for every five youth.
